He is originally from the “Space Coast” of Florida near Cocoa Beach and received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Florida as well as a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences from the UF College of Medicine. His graduate research in the department of Otolaryngology provided an introduction to this fascinating field and prompted him to pursue a career in medicine. He graduated in the top quartile of his class in medical school at Florida International University, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine where he received the Distinguished Student Scholarship and the Dr. Steve Scott Scholarship Awards for his academic achievements.
He then returned to his alma mater at UF Health Shands Hospital where he completed a 5-year residency program in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He has published peer-reviewed articles and presented award winning research at local and national meetings. He has volunteered his time giving lectures to UF medical students and mentoring future ENT physicians.
